Here are some examples of technical drawings I have made during my working experience in the sign industry. These drawings were designed to communicate to an experienced sign builder a design intent. In many of these applications, engineered drawings are needed for production. Keeping the illustration at this level results in a cost-effective solution.
In order to expedite drawings in a production environment, one of the best solutions I recommend, and have implemented in two different companies, is the creation of a library of typical sections. Some of these are now available commercially. The time invested in creating these common illustrations – and creating them in a fashion that would allow quick modification – proved to be another profit-enhancing measure.

Technical Illustration: The Domain
While at fd2s, I worked with team members to advance projects like the environmental graphics and the entrances of the multi-use development The Domain, in Austin, Texas. This time, I was in charge of producing the final set of drawings that would go out to bids, and worked early implementation and project management.
